Rectovaginal nodule and discoid resection for endometriosis
This case shows a rectovaginal endometriotic nodule with transmural involvement of the vagina and a tight attachment of the sigmoid colon to the posterior aspect of the uterus. Nodule resection required a vaginal opening and a sigmoid anterior discoid resection. A flap was then performed to protect the stapling line on the bowel and prevent the risk of rectovaginal fistula.
