Laparoscopic gastric banding in a 45-year-old female patient with a BMI of 40
This video demonstrates the basic steps in placement of a gastric band. The surgeon demonstrates the key anatomical landmarks and dissection. He also discusses things to avoid. The dissection of retrogastric window is clearly demonstated and the band is introduced through an 18 mm port in the left upper quadrant and positioned in the upper stomach after calibration with a 15 mL balloon passed by the anesthetist. Once the band is locked, the anterior segment is buried by approximating the two borders of the stomach. The reservoir is placed in the LUQ at the site of the 18 mm port.

Laparoscopic reversal of Hartmann's procedure
This video demonstrates a laparoscopic closure of a Hartmann's 6 months after it was done for a perforated diverticular disease. The surgeon gains access to the peritoneal cavity through a port placed under direct vision in the right upper quadrant. The adhesions to the midline scar are taken down. The rectal stump is identified and mobilized proximally. The colostomy is then taken down and an end to end anastomosis is made with the rectum using an EEA stapler.

Laparoscopic Nissen-Rossetti with minimal dissection
Compared with other anti-reflux procedures, the Nissen-Rossetti procedure does not require the resection of the short gastric vessels; thus, it consists in a safer procedure with decreased bleeding.
In this video, Prof. Jacques Marescaux demonstrates the laparoscopic procedure in a stepwise fashion.

Laparoscopic sigmoidectomy for diverticulitis: a standard case
This video demonstrates principles of laparoscopic sigmoidectomy for benign disease with preservation of superior rectal artery. In this case, the patient had several episodes of diverticulitis and the surgeon only resected the affected sigmoid colon after mobilization of the splenic flexure. The preservation of the superior rectal artery will ensure nerve preservation and is believed to reduce the possibility of anastomotic ischemia causing leaks or stenosis.

Laparoscopic management of urolithiasis
The description of the laparoscopic management of urolithiasis covers all aspects of the surgical procedure used for the management of urolithiasis.
Operating room set up, position of patient and equipment, instruments used are thoroughly described. The technical key steps of the surgical procedure are presented in a step by step way: exposure, opening of urinary tract, stent placement, end of procedure.
Consequently, this operating technique is well standardized for the management of this condition.
