  • I. General Information
    1. What is WebSurg?
    WebSurg is the largest online minimally invasive library. The website features educational videos in 15 MIS specialties. It offers operative videos, preoperative and postoperative videos, expert feedback and conferences. It also allows members to exchange with surgeons. The website is completely free, with unlimited access anywhere in the world. Create an account now to make the most of hours of educational videos.
    2. What is the link between IRCAD and WebSurg?
    WebSurg is an IRCAD (Research Institute Against Digestive Cancer) project, we work in close collaboration with the institute located in France, but also with the ones in Taiwan and Brazil, to come forward with high quality content, in order to promote excellence in the field of minimally invasive surgery. You can train at our IRCAD training centers but also online on our website.
    3. What is the Virtual University?
    The Virtual University gathers all of WebSurg’s educational content. The online media is categorized into different specialties. You can also browse the website and discover themes that you may be interested in, no matter what your specialty may be. New content is published on a monthly basis.
    4. What can I find on the website?
    Once you have created an account, you can browse the website and discover content for each specialty and different types of media which will help you reach your educational goals. You can also propose content by contributing to WebSurg, exchange and talk with other members from the world over.
    5. Who is WebSurg aimed at?
    WebSurg is aimed at healthcare professionals, and understanding the website’s content requires solid medical knowledge. Students, doctors, surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, industrials, but also anyone who is curious about minimally invasive surgery.
    6. Who can access the website?
    WebSurg is aimed at healthcare professionals but anyone can create an account and access the website.
    7. Is the website free?
    The website is completely free of charge, create an account to get unlimited access to the content for free, no matter where you are in the world.
    8. What is the Winners Project?
    The Winners Project is an online educational program which was launched in 2012. The project was put together by Professor Wattiez and his team of IRCAD gynecologists, by WebSurg, and the European Academy of Gynecological Surgery. Just like WebSurg, Winners is completely free of charge and accessible to all. The aim of this educational program is to provide theoretical knowledge to gynecologists, no matter what their level is, and allow them to obtain a European certification of theoretical exams (TESTT).
  • II. Browsing
    1. Do I need to have an account to access the content?
    Yes. You can access general information without an account, however the creation of an account gives you access to the educational content. It’s easy and fast ! This will allow us to keep yourself informed on the topics you are interested in, but also to obtain the required information in case you would like to do some CME credit activities.
    2. How can I find videos that I need?
    You can find your customized content on your welcome page. If there is something in particular that you’re looking for, you can use our search tool at the top of the page and filter your search by using the filter tool located on the left hand side. To discover WebSurg’s content, browse the virtual university in the main menu located in the top left corner.
    3. Do I have to fill in my fields of interest?
    In order to make the most of WebSurg, it is highly advised that you let us know what your fields of interests are. You can select more than one, change them, or delete them at any moment. This will allow us to send you videos which you are likely to be interested in.
    4. How frequently is the content updated?
    WebSurg is updated regularly. There is a monthly publication, some surgical fields are updated more frequently than others. You can also contribute to WeBsurg in your specialty, you can view the advantages and conditions here: websurg.com/contribution.
    5. How is the content checked and validated?
    WebSurg’s content has a valuable scientific interest. The committee gets together every week to decide what will be featured in the monthly publication, to try to perfect that content and make it interesting to our members. Our content is also recognized by our organizations of reference.
    6. WebSurg has CME credit activities, how can I give these activities a try?
    CME credits are aimed at professionals specialized in activities proposed on WebSurg. Get familiar with the topics, learn the courses online, take the test, in order to receive CME credits for free. Find out more about how to take the test here.

    1. Can I change my fields of interest?
    You can change your fields of interest at any moment in your profile settings (profile menu in the top right corner). If you wish to discover additional WebSurg content, you can do so by browsing the virtual university.
    2. Can I change the information on my account?
    Yes you can. You can access the personal information on your account at any moment on your computer or your mobile device. You can edit, change, or delete your information at any moment.
    3. Can I have access to content which does not correspond to my fields of interest?
    Yes, WebSurg’s content can be browsed on the virtual university page. You can access it in the main menu.
    4. I have contributed, where can I see my contributions?
    The videos that you have sent us appear in the “contributions” part of your profile. You can follow the different stages of validation of your contribution on that page. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
    5. I want to change my newsletter preferences, how can I do that?
    You can change your newsletter preferences on your profile, subscribe to or unsubscribe from the WebSurg and IRCAD newsletter, but also our partners’ newsletters.
    6. Who can see my personal information?
    Personal data is protected. WebSurg members can view the information that you have chosen to share: username, name, professional function. You can change your settings at any moment.
    7. I’ve forgotten my username and/or my password. How can I retrieve it/them?
    You can retrieve your login information by using your email address. Click on “I’ve forgotten my password” when you log in and you will receive a password reset email.
    8. I’m not receiving WebSurg emails, or they are sent directly to my spam folder, what can I do to receive them in my inbox?
    Add the WebSurg newsletter email address (newsletter@websurg.com) to your contacts to receive the emails in your inbox.
  • IV. Registration
    1. Do I have to log in to access WebSurg content?
    In order to access WebSurg’s content, you must create an account and log in. It is easy and fast, you can make the most of the customized content which will suit your needs. Customizing your content will allow you to get all the latest news in your specialty!
    2. I haven’t received an email for the activation of my account, how can I activate it?
    Please check that the email address that you have given us is the right one. If it is the right one, please check your spam folder, as WebSurg emails are sometimes automatically sent to spam folders. If this doesn’t work, contact us with this form, let us know what the problem is and we’ll find a solution.
  • V. Technical assistance
    1. Why can’t I load a page?
    Try to empty the cache of your web browser and to reload the page. If this doesn’t work, try to connect using another web browser, our website is compatible with most browsers that are less than 2 years old (Chrome, Mozilla, Edge, Safari, etc.). Please check your internet connection, as it might be a bit slow.
    2. I cannot watch a video properly, what should I do?
    If your video won’t load, please check your internet connection, as this is usually where the problem comes from. Try to reduce the resolution of the video by using the wheel at the bottom of the video in order to view it. This will allow to make the video more smooth and will reduce the loading time.
    3. None of the videos are working, what should I do? 
    All the videos on www.websurg.com are published through the Vimeo platform. If you are experiencing problems of video viewing, click here to access to their help center page. It can be a problem of video playback or restrictions according to the country you are living in. 
  • VI. WebSurg application
    1. How can I download the WebSurg Apple TV App?
    Use the app store on your Apple TV in order to download the WebSurg application. There you will find all of the minimally invasive educational videos, packages and conferences.
    2. Is there a WebSurg mobile application?
    We are currently working on a native application which will allow you to connect directly to WebSurg on your smartphone. In the meantime, you can use your mobile phone’s web browser to browse through the virtual university.

    1. I have a project, an idea, a partnership proposal I would like to submit – how can I do that?
    You can submit your ideas or partnership proposals by using our contact form, we would be happy to talk about it with you.
    2. I find the website amazing, how can I let people know that?
    Thank you for the compliment ! Don’t hesitate to leave your remarks by commenting our videos or sending us a comment through our contact form, we would be happy to share that with our members. You can also buy a coffee to our web developers, as it is their main source of fuel.
    3. I have found a mistake, how can I let you know ?
