The Endolumenal Functional Lumen Imaging Probe Imaging System (EndoFLIP) is used for intelligent monitoring of anatomical structures. The fundoplication and valve construction are better visualized by means of intraoperative endoscopy.

Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) of the esophagus are rare, comprising only about 1% of reported GISTs. In this video, Dr. Dallemagne demonstrates the Ivor-Lewis esophagectomy in a 70-year-old patient with a large GIST of the distal esophagus. Esophagectomy is performed laparoscopically and thoracoscopically to restore the digestive continuity, achieved through an intrathoracic esophagogastric anastomosis once the stomach has been tubulized.
