In this educational HOW TO video, Dr. Bernard Dallemagne presents a stepwise technical description of a feeding jejunostomy. In this particular case, the jejunostomy is performed during the staging of a foregut cancer.

Technical laparoscopic surgical aspects are highlighted such as trocar placement allowing for an adequate triangulation at the left hypochondrium, number of ports required to expose and identify the correct small bowel loop in which the jejunostomy tube will be placed, and sufficient intraluminal catheter deployment.

Technical relevant specifications are provided, namely submucosal tunnel creation, tube tunnelization through the Witzel approach, and water instillation during the closure of the entry site, hence avoiding any catheter occlusion. Fixation of the jejunal loop to the anterior abdominal wall to prevent any axial rotation is also stressed.
