The laparoscopic approach is key for morbidly obese patients. Indeed, through small incisions, it is possible to access the entire cavity avoiding long xipho-pubic incisions which are associated with more incision-related infections, more hernias, and also more recovery time, not only with regards to intestinal transit, but also to a longer length of hospital stay. This clinical case is that of a young obese patient with a lesion on the right colon. The laparoscopic approach allowed to perform the excision of this lesion in the epiploic appendices, a right hemicolectomy, and also a cholecystectomy for stones.
