In this video, Professor Becmeur demonstrates the management of a 6-year old boy who accidentally ingested a coin. An unsuccessful attempt at removing the coin using a rigid endoscope led to thoracoscopy used to manage the patient’s pleural mediastinal empyema. The main principles and technical aspects of esophageal wound repair and postoperative management are also outlined.
