Between single port surgery and a standard laparoscopic approach, there is an option rarely proposed to offer patients a micro-invasive approach to perform a cholecystectomy. The use of micro-instrumentation requires a selection of patients but also an adaptation of the different surgical steps as these instruments are shorter, more fragile, and as they require micro-optics to apply clips on the cystic duct and artery. These specificities are described in a stepwise manner. The objectives are optimal cosmetic results and reduced postoperative pain.
