The objective of this film is to demonstrate a rare case of large rectal angioma probably evolving from the patient’s childhood and responsible for repeated rectorrhagias and massive chronic anemia necessitating blood transfusions weekly. Following several attempts at local treatments and faced with the impossibility of locoregional embolization, an abdominoperineal resection is put forward. Despite the absence of oncological risks, the technique used is the one that is performed in advanced rectal cancer, hence preventing bleeding risks related to mesorectal dissection.
