Heller’s myotomy has demonstrated good long-term results in the treatment for esophageal achalasia and the laparoscopic approach has been well established in the last years. Nevertheless, there is still a failure rate of approximately 10% at 5 years. It is a difficult operation to perform and the disease is relatively rare. This video shows a reproducible stepwise technique that could help minimize the learning curve and some mistakes.
