Nowadays, tubal surgery is offered only in cases of good prognosis. Until quite recently, tubal surgery was practiced through laparotomy with a microsurgical technique. Today, laparoscopy is as efficient as microsurgery in terms of pregnancy rate, if a careful technique is used. This presentation outlines techniques and results of adhesiolysis, distal tuboplasty and proximal surgery. The results reported by experienced teams demonstrate that tubal surgery is a valid alternative to IVF if patient selection and technique are faultless.
