Obesity and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) are two of the major health problems of the industrialized world. Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG) is rapidly becoming popular as a standalone bariatric operation. At the same time, there are valid concerns regarding its long-term durability and postoperative gastroesophageal reflux disease. In this lecture, Dr. Kelvin Higa explores this issue.
