This video demonstrates the first step of a minimally invasive esophagectomy for the management of an esophageal tumor in a 56-year-old woman. After general anesthesia, the patient is placed in prone position. Three trocars are then placed in the chest cavity. The esophagus will be dissected, and the structures around the esophagus will be identified.
