This video demonstrates an ileocaecal resection for distal ileal Crohn’s disease. The expert’s surgical strategy is to separate the ileocaecum from the ileum and the ascending colon without freeing the posterior inflammatory attachments of the ileocaecum that will be freed subsequently. The ileocolic anastomosis is performed “in”. The expert shows the benefit of the 10mm Ligasure Atlas® device in dissecting the inflammatory tissue.
