This video demonstrates laparoscopic repair of simple umbilical hernia. The surgeon uses three trocars to reduce the hernial contents, then excise the hernia sac, which is not always done and then use a dual mesh to cover the defect with almost 3 cm over the edges of the defect. The surgeon uses tackers to secure the mesh in two concentric rows. Many surgeons also use sutures to anchor the mesh to the layers of the abdominal wall, but in this case this was not done.
