The ESHRE/ESGE classification is based on the anatomy of the female genital tract. Uterine anomalies coming from the same embryological defect are the basis for the design of the main classes and sub-classes of the system. Cervical and vaginal anomalies are classified in supplementary independent sub-classes. All types of anomalies are very clearly and precisely defined.
